In the idyllic summer of 2001, before the world changed as we knew it, CES presented Fragments 4, an exhibition of progressive art. Fragments 4 opened on July 27th, 2001 and ran until August 24th at the Manes Exhibition Space in the center of Prague.
Fragments 4 represented and documented their expression and communication, the successful completion of an idea, and their individual, cultural and social revelations. Fragments 4 featured young progressive artists between the ages of 22 and 34 and these individuals, when brought together, formed quite a special group. Their work was in all in different genres and mediums, from fine art to commercial, including: installation, painting and drawing, photography, sculpture, collage, digital design, video, and film, and the show was impressive in that it showed Prague could host an art show that rivelled any you'd find in London or NYC. Some of these artists are showing and selling their art regularly as emerging professional artists. Others are showing their art randomly (usually at the request of a curator) and using most of their creative energy producing the work they do as art directors, creative assistants, and designers for leading sports and fashion companies as well as international publications. Some are solely creating art to communicate. Many of the artists do all of the above, completely or in various combinations. Their art is the art of today and tomorrow. Artists included: Alexi Zavialoff (fr), Carl E. Smith (usa), Dan Peterka (usa), Jan Kalab (cz), Jesse Littell (usa), Jiri Macht (cz), Justin Young (usa), Kenton Parker (usa), Mason Brown (usa), Mike Parillo (usa), Ryan Hitzel (usa), Scott Myers (usa), Wladimir 518 (cz), Yuri Psinakis (usa).
