There comes a time in every young person's life when society forces its memes upon you under the guise of religion. I was one such lad, reading the bible, being told of how the universe was created by God just for us, and that we are the end all of existence.

Then one fine summer night, I had a chance to look through a telescope of note, at the Palomar observatory, and while I didn't find God or little green men up there, I did see enough of the heavens to know that in the grand scheme of things, between us and the sand particles, there is not much difference in the eyes of the cosmos. A rather humbling experience for sure.

But just how big is it you might ask, this difference between us and the furthest known reaches of the universe?
