Saint Lazereth rises...

Ricard Ozanne is a painter of extraordinary talents. A group of "Saints" was done shortly after his arrival in Prague. The media is pastel on paper.

The saints consumed the whole of his apartment studio in Zizkov, and as frequently happens "cut down" from there. Religious symbolism and a Pagan pallete. How many versions did he do?

The series was ongoing and due to sudden interuption would have been exhibited. This series of smaller paintings came after larger works on paper 6 feet or there abouts... done of ordinary people from sketches on the Prague subway at night.

The results were interesting but ended up being recycled... 30 large works of 1997.
