This isn't so much a read, as a recipe book at the heart of it. But seriously, everything in it looks so good you just want to try it...
Guys who can't cook for nuts and want to impress a girlfriend, or surprise a wife, you can skip the catering house and try this. And for busy working women who need to entertain the men in their lives, this is not a bad solution. Besides, it looks rather pretty as a coffee table book. Dawn Tan thoughtfully adds in some tidbits on Malaysian culture and heritage in its food.

And I never thought I'd be much of a cook; however, a quick glance will show you what I saw: everything can be cut up and tossed into a bowl to simmer, and something decent turns up. I don't even have to stir.
