The most amazing thing happened when I started to read this book...

THE POWER OF NOWAs I read the introduction which describes how the book originated, the sun peaked through my bedroom window. Next to my house lies the Vltava river, and the summer has been teasing us with clouds and rain for weeks now. Having had several days of intense rain and low clouds this natural phenomena could not come at a better time and I felt blessed and wondrous.

So I had to read more.

Eckhart Tolle has emerged as one of today's most inspiring spiritual teachers. In The Power of Now, already a word-of-mouth bestseller, the author describes his transition from despair to self-realization soon after his 29th birthday.

Tolle took another ten years to understand this transformation, during which time he evolved a philosophy that has parallels in Buddhism, relaxation techniques, and meditation theory but is also eminently practical in open your mind to new perspectives.

With this book, he'll show you how to recognize yourself as the creators of you own pain (if you have any), and how to have a pain-free and enlightened existence by living fully in the present. Accessing the deepest self, the true self, can be learned, he says, by freeing ourselves from the conflicting, unreasonable demands of the mind and living "present, fully and intensely, in the Now."

As I read this book, I realized that there were a lot of ideas in there that I knew subconsiously, which I suspect we all know deep inside, but somehow choose to ignore. By reading this book, you don't need to really be a victim to gain insight into the nature of consciousness and the evolution of the human spirit.

Targeted to new agey victims of life, Eckart seeks to teach us to get to a place where he has found peace and joy. He took 10 years to give us the guidelines to help finding a way out of pain, out of the mind and into the Now. Especially appealing are the Chapters where he explains the meaning of Surrender, how to find PEACE BEYOND HAPPINESS and UNHAPPINESS.

Absolutely fascinating is the Chapter on the INNER BODY, sections like 'SLOWING DOWN THE AGING PROCESS', ' LET THE BREATH TAKE YOU INTO THE BODY', 'SILENCE', 'THE ART OF LISTENING' and so on.

One of the most enchanting reason why you must read this book is the amazing language which is easy to understand, giving us the ability to move beyond the words. It is a journey you've always wished to take, so it is your map, your guiding light, your travel companion.
