Cape Town is one of the most beautiful cities in South Africa. It’s a fabulous place to head to on your honeymoon. You can enjoy beautiful weather, the best hotels and plenty of culinary wonders. While many people think the honeymoon is centred in the hotel room there does come a time when you need to go and stretch your legs, so you need things to go and see and do. This is where Cape Town thrives, as you have so many places to go and things to see together. Here is a small sample of brilliant attractions for honeymooners.

Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope

Take a day to spend visiting the tip of the African continent. The views will leave you speechless as you stand together hand in hand soaking up the mountains and the views of the bay. You stand a good chance of seeing a whale in the distance or perhaps even spot a shipwreck. It’s a brilliant way to start married life together; these things just don’t happen to us every day. You can take a guided tour or wander around at your own pace. If you don’t want to be part of a big crowd, set off as early as you can, the afternoons do get busy up there.

Table Top Mountain National Park

If you don’t fancy going for a hike up the mountain you can take a cable car straight to the top. This is a brilliant experience and you’ll want to take your camera with you as the views are spectacular. There aren’t many places where you’ll see such rich bio-diversity so close to the amenities that a city provides. There are forests, mountain trails and stunning beaches just waiting for you to admire. Take a picnic with you and spend some time on the top of Table Mountain but remember to take a jumper with you as it can turn cold quite quickly up there.

Wine Tasting

South Africa has wonderful wines that will tickle and tease your pallet delightfully. There are several vineyards worth visiting, where you can sample the wines and stock up on your favourites. Some of the most popular vineyards include Stellenbosch, Paarl and Constantia; they’re all just a short drive out of the city making them very easy to reach.

Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens

If you are hot and bothered, take a day to explore the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. This is one of the most famous botanical gardens in the world where you can walk, or take a golf cart, and take a look at the most beautiful trees, plants and flowers. If you visit on a Sunday in the summer you may be lucky enough to catch a concert too.
