As young backpackers my now wife and I had planned a six month tour of south east Asia and Indonesia. Well the south east Asia leg of our gap year tour was absolutely brilliant. We started off in Thailand and after a frenetic week in Bangkok we went on to do some island hopping taking in Phuket, Ko Phi Phi and Ko Samuii. Then it was in to Cambodia and the temple complex of Angkor Wat before moving to Vietnam and Saigon traveling up to Hanoi via Na Trang thus breaking the journey up. We visited a somewhat restricted Myanmar/Burma before returning to Bangkok with Laos en route. After five months on the road the plan was to fly to Bali for some well deserved self indulgence, alas due to a family emergency we had to cancel and return home so unfortunately we never got to Bali, something we planned to rectify one day.
Settled in our careers and with two young children we decided on a holiday to Bali. I had to be very selective in choosing the right accommodation that was child friendly yet catering to our adult requirements. I searched intensely on the internet and after a couple of weeks we both agreed that the Hard Rock Hotel Bali seemed to tick all the boxes as far as the children were concerned including a kiddies pool, children’s club, family room and most importantly for us a baby sitting service. This meant us oldies could indulge ourselves as we had promised each other all those years ago.
We had arranged the airport transfer when we had booked our accommodation online and we were warmly greeted by the reception staff who were particularly attentive towards the children. After a quick check in we were shown to our rooms, a kiddies suite that was connected to our King room, these rooms are situated around the chill out pool and the kids had everything they could wish for, as did we.
We ventured out on a couple of days but our mission was to relax and the hotel provided so much to entertain their guests we didn’t feel the need to leave the resort. There were several kinds of dining that suited both kids and parents alike ranging from Italian to the famous Hard Rock burger. After the kids were safely tucked up in bed we would have our dinner and dance the night away to the sound of a live band courtesy of our wonderful babysitter.
Don’t miss out on a Hard Rock Hotel Bali experience and all it has to offer, we are certainly coming back.
